Brand new apps make finding stations and shows even easier

Radioplayer is announcing a major update to our popular iOS and Android apps this week. They’re getting simpler to use, but more sophisticated under the bonnet, with a fresh new look.

People are turning to radio more than ever, in fact Radioplayer’s listener numbers jumped by 50% between February and March. Radio provides news, companionship, information and entertainment – and Radioplayer is the perfect showcase for the best the UK has to offer.

Our new apps feature a simplified interface – making it much easier to find live stations and podcast content. There’s a new spinnable carousel for your favourite stations, putting your favourite broadcasting brands front-and-centre. Meanwhile it’s now super-simple to find new stations and discover on-demand shows and podcasts via a refreshed search screen.

With more and more listeners subscribing to – and enjoying podcast content, we’ve made it even easier to listen again to shows and play podcasts. Browse by category, see what’s new and subscribe to a show to get all the latest episodes plus notifications as new editions are released.

Easy Mode (found in the play bar), makes it straightforward to reach for your favourite stations when your hands are full. Drivers can enjoy improvements to Apple Car Play, Android Auto, plus simple voice control (play, stop, skip etc). And Radioplayer has teamed up with Bosch to integrate their Wrong Way Driver Warning system which is already reducing road collisions in Germany.

Radioplayer’s app is free for everyone, requires no login, and is available now in the App Store and Google Play store. Listeners with Amazon and Huawei devices will receive updates soon, too.
